Nicki Tomaszewski graduated from NAU with a bachelor’s degree in Creative Media and Filmmaking with an emphasis in Documentary in 2021. As a documentarian and healer she knows how to hold compassion in a way that supplies a safe container for transformational experiences. In her documentary work she holds the moral responsibility behind bearing witness.Through healing work, this requires a sensitivity and discretion backed with integrity that allows for growth and harmony. She also has experience in recording audio in on-set film environments that extends to building sound design in post production. In her work as an editor, she knows the story and vision of the original written story, but also takes into account any unveiled themes that may arise through the production of the film. Thus she must make decisions on how to progress the story clearly and efficiently while considering the perception of the characters and what the audience may experience as the project comes together into its final form. She also has learned to maintain a clear, calm state of being during high pressure environments, including her experience as an audio board operator for NAU TV, a production company at the university that broadcasts the school’s sports events. She learned to harness a strong focus to execute her job while having to pay attention to the game, receive instructions from her director and producer, while also adding a unique creative flare to the mixing for best and seamless audio effects and transitions for the live audience. After graduation, she has continued to pursue her video production aspirations and has created her own company called Rhythmic Reels Studios that she is still building and offering services through. She has always been passionate about helping others, and is keen on making that part of the experience in her production services. Through her own personal spiritual journey she has found a passion in energy work, supporting and uplifting others, and practices intuitive Reiki healing as a modality of doing so and offers Reiki services through Celestial.
Nicki is a deep thinker but her heart is her biggest strength. She tries to understand things from a bigger picture to make sense of the more complex interconnected relationship dynamics in society, culture, nature, mechanics, technology, psychology etc. She is passionate about humanity and is at her optimal being when she can create music, art and film, express herself boundlessly and support others in finding their inner beauty and expressing their voice. She loves to challenge dominating ways of thinking and to fight against oppressive systems that we have in place through kindness, integrity, compassion and understanding. She draws upon her gift of expansion to become inspired by the universal love language of the cosmos and becomes passionately motivated to spread this beauty with purpose. She has a giving heart that doesn't shy away from humility and vulnerability. She believes in the good in humanity and full heartedly believes that it is worth fighting for. She loves to escape into the vivid landscapes of music and art. As an artist, she is interested in the human psyche and our ability to persevere through pain and discomfort and transform through hardship. She is interested in experimenting with these themes to promote health and well-being in creative ways. She believes everyone is someone she can learn from and has a deep desire to know and connect with their hearts and souls. Documentary is her match made in heaven as it serves as her tool to connect, reflect for herself and others simultaneously. She believes in all things beautiful.
